APPD is accepting nominations for the positions of a secretary-treasurer (1-year term) and three directors-at-large (2-year term) on the APPD Board of Directors. Full details and application can be found here. All nominations must be received by 11:59 pm ET on Wednesday, October 15.
To be considered for the roles, nominees must be active members of APPD. Self-nomination is permitted.
Secretary-Treasurer: The Secretary-Treasurer serves a one-year term and then succeeds to the position of President-Elect. Current or former Directors-at-Large preferred.
Responsibilities include:
- Recording minutes of all Board members.
- Delivering official notices to members.
- Maintaining membership records.
- Overseeing the Association’s funds and financial activities, including keeping accurate records of receipts and disbursements, depositing funds and valuables in designated depositories, and disbursing funds as authorized by the Officers and Board of Directors.
- Providing financial reports to the Officers, Board of Directors, and membership, as required.
- Signing all checks and disbursements, with additional signatures as designated by the Officers and Board of Directors, while retaining full responsibility for all fiscal transactions.
- Serving as Chair of the Finance Committee.
Director-at-Large: Directors serve two-year terms and must be active members of APPD.
This important leadership role is responsible for the affairs and policies of the Association and helps drive the mission and vision of the organization. Together, the APPD Board of Directors is responsible for the actions of the officers of the Association, has sole power to take disciplinary action against any member, and has the authority to hire and dismiss employees of the Association.
