The Association of Pain Program Directors (APPD) is accepting nominations for three standing committees. To be considered, apply by Friday, March 13, 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the growth and direction of APPD while collaborating with colleagues who share your commitment to advancing pain education and scholarship. Nominations are open for the following committees:
Research Committee
Responsibilities include:

Developing and identifying ideas for manuscript submissions (including opinion, perspective, and review pieces)

Identifying contributors
-
Selecting appropriate journals for submission
-
Collaborating with the Education Committee on manuscript writing
-
Overseeing manuscript submission
-
Identifying funding sources for publication fees (through APPD or external sources; may be pursued prior to manuscript planning)
Membership Committee
Responsibilities include:

Tracking membership
-
Engaging lapsed members
-
Assisting with development of website content for trainees and faculty
-
Promoting APPD across all platforms
Education Committee
Responsibilities include:
-
Developing an educational curriculum for the APPD website
-
Identifying topics for webinars and new initiatives
-
Reviewing educational proposals for potential website integration
-
Identifying and curating educational content for the APPD website
Committee Structure
Each committee will include:
-
Chair: A current or former APPD Board member
-
Members-at-Large: At least one pain faculty member and two to three trainee members
All committee members will serve a two-year term.
Nominees must be active members of APPD. Self-nominations are welcome and encouraged.
